THE PATTERN Session
On the surface, the behaviours can look completely unrelated.
- You might be trying to lose weight.
- Working harder to prove yourself.
- Keeping everyone happy.
- Buying things because of how you hope they will make you feel.
- Seeking reassurance.
- Perfecting every detail.
- Trying to stay in control.
- Constantly looking for the next thing to improve or fix.
But underneath each one sits a familiar promise:
"If this happens, then I'll feel..."
Secure
Accepted
Successful
In control
Attractive
Capable
Reassured
Relieved
Certain
Enough
The behaviour may change and the thing you are pursuing may change.
But, every behaviour is doing something for you, even if only temporarily.
No external outcome can permanently secure an internal feeling. the mind eventually finds something else to chase, change, control, avoid, or fix.

The illusion is not that you shouldn’t want the relationship, goal, money, achievements, or experiences. Those things can genuinely matter to you.
The illusion begins when they become responsible for how you hope to feel about yourself:
"When I have this, then I’ll feel enough.”
“When they respond differently, then I’ll feel secure.”
“When I achieve that, then I’ll know I’m successful.”
“When I get everything under control, then I can finally relax.”
The Pattern Session is where we explore why that promise became so convincing for you.
We begin with the recurring behaviour, reaction, goal or situation.
What activates it.
What you do next.
Identify what you are hoping will happen.
Together, we make the cycle visible so you can see more than the behaviour itself.
This is where we go beneath the private promise.
Why has feeling secure, accepted, successful, in control, wanted or enough become tied to this particular outcome?
What meaning have you attached to what happens?
What have you come to believe about yourself when you get it, and when you don’t?
And why did your mind come to see this response as necessary?
This isn’t about blaming your past.
It’s about understanding the conditioned lens through which the pattern makes complete sense.
Once you can see what is happening and understand why, you have somewhere different to respond from.
You’ll begin recognising the pattern sooner.
Understanding what has been activated.
Questioning the meaning you would normally attach to it.
And creating space between the familiar trigger and the familiar response.
The goal isn’t to never repeat the pattern again. It is to have more choice when it appears.

I know what it is like to spend years believing the next change would finally make the difference.
My pattern often showed up through striving and proving.
Yours may look completely different: reassurance, avoidance, control, people-pleasing, perfectionism or something else entirely.
Eventually, I recognised that the thing I was pursuing was not what I was actually seeking.
I was pursuing what I believed it would allow me to feel about myself. That distinction changed the way I understood years of striving and proving. The goal wasn’t necessarily the problem. It was what I had unconsciously made the goal responsible for giving me.
That understanding now shapes the work I do with women.
My approach is direct, compassionate and deeply curious.
Together we explore:
What is this behaviour trying to give you?
What are you hoping will finally change?
And what has made this pattern feel so necessary?
The Pattern Session gives you the space to look beneath the behaviour honestly, without shame, blame or another demand to become a better version of yourself.
"I always thought my problem was a lack of discipline. Understanding what I was really searching for and why I kept doing the same thing, over and over, even when I knew better, took so much pressure off."
"I came to Kristen because I knew I was a typical 'people‑pleaser.' I can now see why I kept trying to make everyone else happy, and can recognise the pattern before I move into pleasing mode. It's honestly like a weight has lifted because I have permission to exist as me.”
